Why Visit Wonderful Queensland, Australia

Today, Roxana, a Sydney based travel writer, is sharing some of the countless reasons to visit Queensland Australia. So if you're looking for travel inspiration for the holiday of a lifetime or you're relocating to Australia keep reading.

Queensland, the state located on north-east of Australia should definitely find its place on your travel bucket list. Rich with glorious landscapes, cities bursting with life and 300 sunny days a year, this state is a true Aussie’s treasure. Deservedly called, The Sunshine State, it can please any traveler, from the one searching for a spiritual retreat, to the one looking for wild parties. Now, we could just tell you to type “Queensland, Australia” in your browser, look at the images, and that would probably be enough to convince you to visit. Still, there is much more beauty beyond photos of this astonishing destination, so we will tell you the story, instead.

The Out-of-This-World Islands
Where else in the world could you see islands inhabited with more than 400 species of coral reef? Whitsunday Islands (74 continental islands), discovered by Captain James Cook, offer everything from luxury resorts to a true desert island experience. On the other hand, Lady Elliot Island, is a tiny territory you can walk through in 45 minutes, but you will be amazed every single one of those minutes. And do not forget about the must-see-before you die – Great Barrier Reef.

The Unnaturally Amazing Nature
Not just the islands, practically everything you can see in The Sunshine State is photo-worthy (no-filters-needed). The Golden Beaches of the Sunshine Coast are luring you to spend your entire life there, while Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park is admirable with its ancient rainforests. Untouched by human influence, Cobbold Gorge and Mossman Gorge, are the perfect outback regions for adventurists. Green pastures of Atherton Tablelands are the perfect place to experience Aussie’s rural spirit.

The Friendliness, Tolerance and Love
The people of Queensland are kind, helpful and friendly. That significantly reflects to the entire atmosphere in the state. The varieties we can see there are simply sublime. In Brisbane, for instance, you can buy Vietnamese food from immigrants who came in Australia in the 1970’s and made it their home. You can familiarize with cultures of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders. Oh, not to mention the phenomenal time you can have if you visit some of the great gay bars and clubs in Brisbane or perhaps a gay friendly resort

The Vivid Cities
The capital and the biggest city of Queensland, Brisbane, has got everything you need for a great vacation – ideal climate, friendly locals, variety of places for going out in the night (pubs, clubs, restaurants, cocktail bars, etc.), koala sanctuary, beaches and great view from Mount Coot-tha. If you want to travel back in time, make sure you visit Cairns, former miners’ settlement, and today’s tropical getaway. Gold Coast, Warwick and all the other cities also have so much to offer.

Heaven for Your Taste Buds
Queensland is the heaven for a foodista. Not only because everything you can try is delicious, but because there is so much varieties in local cuisine which would impress everyone. Seafood is, of course, somewhat a signature food, but you can find everything from Vietnamese to Thai dishes. Native macadamia nuts can be found in almost every dish, from ice-cream to salads. As for the drinks, wine is sublime, but you must also try local beer and rum.

Queensland Is Adventureland
There is no need going as far to Africa to have an adventure of a lifetime; Queensland will be sufficient. You can experience the fascinating Aboriginal culture by visiting Cape York and seeing indigenous rock art paintings. The Kuranda scenic rail journey will blow you away with its forested mountains, stunning waterfalls and death-defying bridges. The turtle swimming, diving, snorkelling and surfing and visiting (or participating in) Audi Hamilton Island Regatta are just some of the available activities.
Hopefully, we have answered all of your “whys”. There is no more need for questions, it is time for packing your bags.
