Happy 21st Angie!

Here's a few pictures from my friendy's 21st...
Dressed the birthday girl in flashing pink sash and huge badge, helped decorate with confetti, balloons, poppers and countless photos, 21 kisses, danced to Galway girl, snapped tonnes of pics, ate sausages and sandwiches (I love food at party's all the little food with tiny cocktail sticks, it's the highlight of all weddings for me!). Why is it that the cheese sandwiches are always left behind uneaten at every event??? Poor cheese sandwiches their the reject of party food :(

Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.

Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.
-- Sam Keen
The weather is having some beautiful warm summer moments in between the showers of rain. Spent my day off work baking scones, visiting family, walking my dog in the sunshine, drinking homemade berrie smoothies, eating rolls and warm beef stew, reading poetry (present from my boyfriend)in the shade...

Tea for two...

Believing hear, what you deserve to hear:
Your birthday as my own to me is dear...
But yours gives most; for mine did only lend
Me to the world; yours gave to me a friend.
~Martial
Wore this outfit going for lunch, shopping for party supplies and decorating with my friend who turns 21 soon! It's all about being comfy and warm as it just keeps raining on and off. Lunch was delicious had hot chicken wrap with mozzarella, pesto and sundried tomatoes, getting so hungry just typing that. This Diesel dress is one of my favourites, I bought it in a charity shop but it came with all the tags on brand new. I love how the yellow lining sticks just out under the blue dress makes it so summery. It would appear I am just addicted to wearing black leggings and to think I was so reluctant to ever buy a pair, I only got them to go with a sequined jumper dress that would have been far too revealing without them and now I almost never take them off!

Outfit details: Cardigan (Primark) 11 euro, dress (Diesel thrifted) 6 euro, leggings (river island), boots (Aldo) 95 euro.
The last few days weather has prevented much adventuring or days out but I squeezed in lots or relaxing, working, baking, more artwork and a 21st party. Outfit for the 21st party was all about the embroidered blue scarf its just so beautiful.

Relaxed with many many Galaxy muffins and the new Glamour mag. As is obvious from previous posts I love a great girly book and the one free with the current issue of Glamour was just perfect, I am definitely going to search out more books by Lindsey Kelk. My artwork at the moment is mainly sketching cute little pictures with coloured pencils, I'm currently working on one of two hummingbirds surrounded by cherry blossoms.

Tea for two, two for tea...me for you, you for me...

Cupcake Artwork

Food is a huge passion of mine particularly sweet things, so it makes sense that it should be the subject of some of my artwork. The illustrations are inspired by my cupcake cookbook I purchased in London, the 100 different cupcakes in the book are like little pieces of art, in an array of colours and flavours. My cupcake illustrations are done primarily with coloured pencils, two illustrations are mixed media combining metallic and glitter paint, ribbon and star shaped sequins.

Wax Museum

My days off work were lovely and went a little like this...

Visit to Dublin in the warm warm sun. Dress shopping for polka dot dress with a little bow. Visit to the Wax museum. Stocking up on girly books. Eating tapas, paella, chicken stew, huge fry ups with tea, white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. Getting new glasses. Doing chocolate face masks. Having BBQ.

I hadn't been to the wax museum since I was 7 or 8 and its changed so much, I loved the focus on Irish history and the science section, I never knew there was so many ground breaking Irish scientists.
Getting new frames for my glasses after wearing my Mui Mui roses glasses for 6 years was a slow slow process, I love my new frames now though. Two frames for the price of one made it so much easier to choose, a black pair to go with everything and a purple one thats a bit more fun. But I'm going to miss my rosey frames, they were my first ever glasses and I got them to match my school uniform (very matchy matchy of me :)).
I've been stocking up like crazy on girly books since the summer began, there the perfect way to relax on summery evenings. I love getting my girly books from libraries and second hand shops, it's entertainment for almost free. Free if I manage to return my library books on time that is :) My boyfriend treated me to '1,000 places to visit before you die', I've so many pages already earmarked that I'm dreaming of seeing and I'm so lucky to already have some I can tick off. Hoping Paris will be my next stop

Discovered another little wonderful thing about my maxi dress, the vibrant colours and patterns hide stains perfectly. Spilled jam right down it and you wouldn't even notice. Another win for the maxi dress!
