Ballycasheen, Killarney, Co Kerry
I'd never been camping before, unless you can count camping in your own garden when your little, so I really wanted to include camping in our road trip. However Ireland in September can be very cold and wet so I decided to leave camping to the summer time and try out it's much fancier cousin; Glamping! Glamping, or glamorous camping, is basically having the camping experience of sleeping outdoors while still feeling like a princess. For our first ever glamping experience we picked Grove Lane Glamping in Killarney, Kerry. Grove Lane exceeded all my expectations and was just incredible, everything I would have picked for myself was already there. Linda meet us on arrival, checked if we needed fresh towels and then showed us around the site. There's hot showers, spotlessly clean bathrooms, 5 yurts with their own private kitchen, a campfire for toasting marshmallows and horses down by the river. Linda and Mike have thought of genuinely everything; hot water bottles if you get cold, marshmallows and sticks for S'mores and barbeques all ready to go. Our yurt was so cozy with it's own solid fuel stove to keep you warm at night. So don't worry about being cold or having to go for a grotty pee or shower, this is luxurious, incredibly relaxing and so much fun. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a girly weekend with friends, it's situated perfectly for exploring Killarney or just simply relaxing in bed reading, it's up to you.
There's plenty more road trip adventures on the way!
