The Glengarriff Park Hotel
The Village, Glengarriff,
West Cork, Ireland
Day 1 of our Irish Road Trip brought our first hotel of the trip. After a few pit stops along the road and about 5 hours after we left home we made our final stop for the night in Glengarriff Cork. We had booked Glengarriff Park Hotel for 2 nights before we left so we could start our holiday relaxed and with a conveniently located base for starting our road trip along The Wild Atlantic Way. The hotel itself was modern, spotless, had loads of parking and the staff were helpful and welcoming. Our bed was amazing, like sleeping on a huge marshmallow, perfect for nodding off after a full day of exploring. The hotel is surrounded by gorgeous scenery and views of the sea. On our doorstep was boats to take you to the Garnish Islands, a seal sanctuary, botanical gardens, nature reserve and sculpture garden. For €218 we got 2 nights accommodation and a delicious breakfast both mornings for 2 people. When food is on the brain, The Park Bistro is perfectly located downstairs with a mouthwatering menu with plenty of seafood options. I tried mussels for the first time here and while they were actually far tastier than I expected they definitely aren't up there with my favorite foods but you just have to try these things when you spending so much time by the sea. If your looking for somewhere to stay on The Wild Atlantic Way or for a weekend away in Cork, the Glengarriff Park Hotel is a relaxing and comfortable options in a beautiful, peaceful location.
Let me know your favorite hotels for a getaway, I love new places to visit!
