Buy Irish Christmas Gift Guide

If you're looking for a few last minute Christmas presents or maybe a little treat for yourself, here's a selection of Irish goodies that would make perfect gifts. I love supporting Irish and local businesses and Christmas is the perfect time of year to show some love to Irish business and crafts people.

--------------------

For the Interior Design Goddess

Dunnes Stores is packed full of gorgeous homeware gems by Irish designer; like the Helen James Considered range that includes a huge range of food, kitchen and homeware that would suit plenty of budgets. Her candles smell amazing in scents like Lemon Balm and Root Ginger, pick them up in store for €12 or check out the full Considered range here. For those who like a more colorful, vintage look Dunnes Stores stocks Carolyn Donnelly's Eclectic Range of houseware, her super soft throw (€50) would make a lovely cozy present.

For the Foodie

The Happy Pear Cookbook is written by two brothers that run a natural food store, two wholefood cafes, a restaurant and a sprout farm, not to mention an amazing YouTube channel full of recipes. This book is the perfect gift for the health conscious foodie, it covers breakfast, soups, salads, mains and desert all with a healthy twist. Grab a copy in Easons for €22.99.

Fresh by Donal Skehan is another excellent cook book for anyone who loves easy, delicious and healthy recipes. Donal is an Irish food writer, photographer and television presenter, who also has a hugely popular YouTube Channel packed with tasty recipes. Pick up this cookbook in Easons for €19.99

For the Magpie

Receiving jewelry is a huge treat and anything from Chupi's range would make that treat even more special. I love this Wrap Your Laurels Around Me ring in 18k gold priced at €99. If you want to splash out a bit more The Sweetest Thing Raspberry Leaf necklace is really special. It costs €169 and the leaf is cast in solid sterling silver from a real raspberry leaf from West Wicklow, then plated in a thick layer of 18k gold. The jewelry is designed and individually hand crafted in their studio in Dublin and hallmarked in Ireland's historic Dublin Castle. There is some absolutely amazing pieces to choose from on her site or you can pick them up in store in the Powerscourt Townhouse.

For the Stationary Addict

Using pretty stationary makes mundane work much less painful so why not treat a hard working student to some gorgeous stationary from Dusty Boy Designs an award winning Irish stationery company based in the heart of the countryside, founded and owned by husband and wife duo Justin Campbell and Kate Rose Crean. My favorite pick is the Golden Polka Notebook for €12.95. They also sell cards and prints, my two favorites are The Grand Aul Pair print and the Home Is Where The Heart Is Print.

For the Pampered Princess

Toiletries or 'Smellies' as they're affectionately called are a very popular gift, why not pick an Irish one this year? For my mammy's birthday this year I got her a selection of incredible smelling soaps from Baressential a small family run business based in  South Kildare. They use ingredients that are 100% natural, carefully selected for their luxurious and therapeutic qualities, plus all their soaps are suitable for vegetarians. They are stocked widely so you should be able to pick up a handmade treat in time time for Christmas. For their Irish, UK and online stockists check here. Another brand where you can pick up gorgeous soaps and also candles made in Ireland is Bog Standard. A set of three soups with scents inspired by Ireland costs €10.95 and a mini candle duo costs €19,.95. Bog Standard is sold throughout Ireland, UK, Europe and the US as well as on their site. Pick them up in Kilkenny Shops around Ireland.

For the Travel Junkie

If the person you're shopping for is more into experiences than material things why not get them a gift voucher to go glamping in Ireland. I stayed at Grove Lane Glamping in Killarney in September and loved it (read about it here). You can find out more about their gift vouchers on their Facebook.

This is obviously just a tiny example of some Irish brands and businesses you could support this Christmas. Please share your favorite Irish brands and craft people, if you've done an Irish themed gift guide even better, make sure to link it below

  1. I am obsessed with those Helen James candles! Whoever is designing for Dunnes lately knows what they are at. So sad that the Donnes near me doesn't have a Helen James section though :( Love Chupi too! Got a necklace of hers as a christmas present 2 years ago and I still love it :)
