The Midlands

Coat- Dorothy Perkins, Leggings- River Island, Jumper and Boots- Zara

This New Years was spent somewhere I have never been before; Derbyshire. I love visiting new places, while there I got to visit Belper, Derby, Nottingham and Matlock. Matlock which lies on the River Derwent, turned out to be my favorite, it has the feel of a sea side town despite its location. It's home to the Heights of Abraham, which happened to be closed while we were there. It's the perfect place to grab some fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce and go for a leisurely walk along the water side. I'd recommend a trip to The Chocolate Shop, where I had delicious orange flavored hot chocolate, they sell solid chocolate skulls there too! My favorite holidays and in general favorite places to visit are where you can take your time, chill out, eat great food and just forget about all your worries. I had such a relaxing holiday that it was a little shock to the system returning to work this week, but thankfully the weekend is here so it's time to unwind once again and watch Love/Hate. Does anyone else watch Love/Hate? Here are a few pictures from the highlights of my holiday in England. Did anyone visit anywhere new for New Years?

  2. Love this post! I was in Nottingham for University and a few years afterward, some gorgeous little tucked away corners there! Plus I'm now Derbyshire dweller and totally agree - Matlock is such a strange combination of shops and experiences but somehow it works and is gorgeous :-)
