The Goddess Experience

With the day off work I decided to indulge in creating pretty things to surround myself with; painting, baking, cleaning up my little space you don't need to spend alot to entertain yourself for the day.
I started the day painting a new piece that is absolutely one of my favourites that I've done, it was inspired by the little jewel coloured flowers my mother displays in tiny vases. I always loved how in feung shui they display items in pairs to attract love so the birds in the painting are all in loving pairs. Art is the ultimate excuse to recycle to me especially in the case of collage, the birds are created from recycled black card, the gold wrappers from chocolate bars and the yellow hearts are from crepe paper from paper Christmas hats. I'm considering selling some of my paintings on etsy would that interest anyone?

Next came baking, I found a recipe for nutella cupcakes in The Goddess Experience by Gisele Scanlon not only do they taste delicious but they fill the house with the most incredible smell and are a great alternative to the average cupcake. I love antique porcelain and this cake tier was bought by my granny, thrift and charity stores are the ideal place to pick up mismatced porcelain for less. The Goddess Experience is one of my favourite books it explores what makes us happy from fashion to art to food and travel and is stuffed with insiders secrets.

Other little luxuries that filled my day included free beauty samples, I collect these up from magazines and makeup counters it's guilt free pampering and guarantees a product is suited to you before you part with any pennies.

Sample books the same way, I'm very picky when it comes to books so here's some great reads I came across at my local library and the great thing is as long as you return them on time it won't cost you anything.

Ending the day in front of the fire, stuffing myself with foreign chocolate, it doesn't cost a fortune to surround yourself with little luxuries just look at what you have around you, your home, your possessions and see what you can do it to make it luxurious. Often with the right people around you you'll notice that everything in your life is a little luxury.
