Road trip: Carton House

I love to travel and explore, never tire of new adventures and experiences. On holidays I'm never the one my the pool all day, I want to see all that I can everywhere I go, I'm a complete tourist basically. In reality though there just isn't the time and the money for me to travel endlessly, so instead I look for adventures constantly, even if it doesn't involve a passport. There is so much to see a car drive, bus trip or train journey away. Just because you haven't left the country doesn't mean there isn't endless things to see and memories to make. When the sun is shining it's the perfect excuse to jump in a car and go for a road trip. This road trip took place in a convertible, my first time in one with the roof down. The feeling of driving along with your hair blowing in the wind is amazing, it makes the journey the best part of a trip. On this particular sunny day we decided to visit Carton House Hotel in Kildare. Carton House is a 1,100 acre estate and historic mansion that was the ancestral seat of the Earls of Kildare and Duke of Leinster. It has since been developed into two golf courses and a hotel. We visited the estate for a picnic and a walk around the beautiful grounds. What is more perfect than a summers day eating salty chips in the grass.
Any road trip recommendations?

  1. Ah I love Carton House, I'd recommend Newgrange, Dublin Castle and Kate Spade in Kildare Village for shopping 😉
